Now I just need to add some missing keys to the Windows registry so I can map them to XBMC or MPC-HC: Info, Guide, and red, green, yellow, blue (probably for options and playback menus within MPC-HC while I'm watching a video). 3) Have been able to config keys in MPC-HC to exit on stop (to go back to XBMC) and to go to next/previous audio track using channel up and down buttons (important for me since I like listening to the commentary tracks). 2) Went back to restore point prior to XBMCCustomRegis install since I think that messed things up and made it a lot more confusing too by adding a whole bunch of stuff I don't need. 1) Sent new IR receiver back to Amazon and now using the USB IR receiver that was already working with openelec (just have to get a USB extension cable for it when I switch out HTPCs). Okay, think I'm starting to figure this out. I know a lot of people here use this same setup of Harmony remote + XBMC launching MPC-HC, so can anyone help? I've never had any problems using the Harmony to control my openelec HTPC so I don't know why this has to be such a wrestling match. Every time I get one button to finally work right something else that was working before suddenly doesn't, even though I swear I didn't touch it. The playercorefactory.xml to launch it works fine but from the beginning a lot of the keys didn't work so I ran the XBMCCustomRegis for Win 8 and have spend hours now trying to manually map keys between MPC-HC options/keys, MCE Remote Key Mapper, and Harmony. Second, I am totally confused mapping my Harmony remote to control MPC-HC when launched as an external player from XBMC. If there's not an updated driver somewhere that gets past this nonsense it's going back to Amazon. First of all, anyone else using this HP IR receiver w/Win 8? - Every time I reboot Device Manager shows it as unknown device or says it can't start or doesn't have a valid HW identification number and the only help I can find online is to uninstall the driver, unplug and plug it back in until Device Manager shows it as being recognized again, which I've done about 50 times now.
